Privacy Policy — Apex Embroidery Fonts Detector

Last updated: August 8, 2026

Apex Embroidery Fonts Detector ("the extension") is a browser extension that helps users identify the font used by any text they select on a web page. This policy explains what data the extension does and does not collect.

Data collection

The extension does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data, browsing history, website content, or user activity. All font-detection happens entirely locally in the user's browser using the standard window.getComputedStyle() API on the text the user selects. Nothing is sent to any server, and the extension has no backend.

Local storage

The extension stores a single small preference — whether font detection is currently turned on or off — using the browser's local chrome.storage.local API. This value stays on the user's own device, is never transmitted anywhere, and is used solely to remember the toggle state between browser sessions.

Permissions

The extension requests the storage permission (to remember the on/off preference described above) and runs a content script on web pages so it can read the font styling of text the user selects. No other permissions are requested, and no remote code is loaded or executed.

Third parties

The extension does not integrate with, share data with, or transmit data to any third party, analytics service, or advertising network.
